Professor Maths
To celebrate Numeracy week the Year 5 students were treated to a very enjoyable, hands-on excursion which took place at the Dallas Campus. The venue allowed the future grade 6's to familiarise with their soon to be new campus. The young mathematicians spent the morning participating in a number of activities which involved strategies to solve a variety of puzzles and problems.
Paper Plane Contest
To celebrate Numeracy Week, students made paper planes in the classroom and had a competition amongst themselves to determine who's flies the longest distance.
Grade 6 News
Exploring Famous Artists Project
Through "Explore your Famous Artist" art project, Dallas Campus grade 6 students had the opportunity to draw upon their own creative talents, self-expression, and an appreciation of how powerful art can be!
Professor Math's Incursion
Dallas Campus & EM Primary Years 5&6 students had exciting and stimulating Math's activities with Professor Math's.
Working together, students solved each mathematical problem whilst having fun.
Year 7 Transition:
The move from primary to secondary school is another major milestone for every child.To help year 6's students to adjust, Dallas Campus and EMC secondary teachers work together to ease students through the transition period. Recently, Dallas Campus girls visited EM Secondary Girls Campus and had the opportunity to listen from their Year 7&8 mentors 'What Secondary School is like.' Year 6's enjoyed both the conversation and the morning tea @EMC Secondary.
Science Week
When we speak of Science week, we do not immediately think of it as an event worth celebrating. Something itching in the back of our minds whispers the thought, "It's not exactly a magic show; how exciting can it be?"
Despite this thought, as teachers and dedicated students we know how to turn something very mundane into something extraordinary.
